Living things sustain and nourish themselves through movement, and tap into their deep reserves through stillness. We can observe these principles in nature — trees extending toward the sun or swaying with the breeze, dogs bounding across fields of grass, or in the deep tranquility following a heavy snowfall. And we know the gifts of movement and meditation to be true in ourselves — from our first morning stretches as we step out of bed to taking a moment in our workday to close our eyes and simply focus on breathing in, breathing out.
Tai Sophia offers an abundant selection of movement classes from both ancient and modern systems, all of which encourage the healthy flow of energy within us. Experience one of our many Qi Gong courses, try yoga, Tai Chi Chih®, or Feldenkrais, or discover the subtle power of meditation. Make a commitment to your well-being, and join our skilled teachers to find your own natural flexibility in body, mind, and spirit.

Yoga is an ancient art based on a harmonizing system of development for the body, mind, and spirit. In this 10-week series of 90-minute classes you will explore the foundation of all Yoga systems. Each week you will engage yourself in a practice where the roots and essence of Yoga are explored through asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), mantra (chanting), and Râja-Yoga (meditation).
This class is ideal for the new student and challenging enough for the practiced one.
Students are also encouraged to challenge themselves through different variations of the same asanas and to expand their awareness of stillness through meditation and breath work.
Fee: $170 ($165 for early registration on or before April 30)
