Saturday, May 15, 2010 - Sunday, May 16, 2010 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Traditional Chinese Medicine has an essentially ‘embryonic’ view of life. The virtue of the child, zi, has always been held in the highest esteem by the ancients for its innocence, its closeness to the “source,” and its ebullient qi. The dynamic equilibrium, so evident in the growing child, has much to teach us about our own health and well-being. Can we approach life with the same playfulness with which a child discovers the world? Can we tap that utter pliancy within ourselves and those we treat in order to foster real recovery from the natural challenges of life?
We will explore how to recapture the spirit of the child using the principles of Chinese Medicine and developmental pediatrics for two primary purposes: 1) to reveal a deeper understanding of the dynamics of growth, and 2) to learn to apply these principals in the treatment of common disorders of childhood such as asthma, allergies, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and autism.
