Clinical Supervisor, Herbal Medicine Program

The Herbal Medicine Program is now hiring a #2 Clinical Supervisor in the Faculty Supervised Student Clinic. This position would begin September 2009, with a training period as an Assistant Supervisor from May 2009 through August 2009. Clinical shifts are held on Wednesday mornings 9:30am-1:30pm and Friday evenings 3-7pm through April 2010. In April 2010, Friday clinic shifts switch to Tuesday evenings, with Wednesday hours remaining the same. Locations include Silver Spring, Baltimore and Laurel clinics.
A #2 Supervisor holds similar responsibilities of oversight in the student clinic to a #1 Supervisor, but the scope is limited. A #2 Supervisor is never the primary supervisor on staff, works primarily with follow-up consultations, and defers to the #1 Supervisor in difficult situations. Available hours for clinic shifts vary, but average 4 hours per week.
Applicant must demonstrate competency as a self-directed clinician and be able to offer an appropriate level of support and supervision to a student clinician. Typically, a #2 Supervisor will be familiar with the Herbal Medicine Program as a Tai Sophia alumna and will have had some sort of active clinical practice since graduation.

Job responsibility is to operate as a team member and assist senior faculty in delivery of the course.
