About Us

The Herbal Clinic for All (HCFA) program is a collaborative effort of faculty and senior students to bring community herbalism to a population who typically would not be able to afford the cost of a wellness consultation and a personalized herbal preparation. This donation-based community wellness clinic offers the services of our faculty supervised student clinic on a weekly basis.

Herbs have traditionally been an integral part of the home and community, and for this reason they are often referred to as the “people’s medicine”.  In recent time, the role of the community herbalist has waned and the development of herbal medicine as an “alternative" or "complementary" therapy has developed.  In this way, herbal medicine has provided a service for a population privileged to be able to pay for their choice in healthcare and subsequently has become out of reach for a large number of individuals.  The HCFA seeks to shift the use of herbs back to the hands of the people.

Support HCFA

The Herbal Clinic for All (HCFA) operates on a volunteer basis, and donations are greatly appreciated to support the purchase of herbal medicines and the ongoing expenses of the clinic.

All donations to the HCFA at Tai Sophia Institute are tax deductible.  We welcome any support you can provide, no matter how small. Donations can be made to Tai Sophia Institute and earmarked for the HCFA. Please mail directly to:
