Academic Programs in Nutrition
At a time when our food choices can influence the health and future of our society and earth ecosystems, holistically trained nutrition professionals will be an essential voice to inspire and activate personal, cultural, and global change.
With our integrative nutrition programs, you will be uniquely prepared to help lead this revolution and fill the growing demand for practitioners and educators with advanced skills and expertise in nutrition and wellness.
Anchored in a wellness-based philosophy, the master’s program offers a unique approach to the study of nutrition, which emphasizes the vital and interrelated physiological, medicinal, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual roles of food in our lives. Students will gain practical skills and apply theory through participation in whole foods cooking labs, practice coaching sessions, and a clinical, research, or community-based practicum. Graduates are qualified to become Certified Nutrition Specialists through the Certification Board for Nutrition Specialists (CNBS) and licensed to practice nutrition in many states.
The first of its kind in the nation, this program provides evidence-based nutrition training specifically for health professionals and those with advanced science training who want to broaden their expertise and client reach with a strong knowledge base in nutrition. The 15-credit program can be completed in 16 months and consists of core nutrition classes and an array of electives, ranging from mindful eating to environmental sustainability. Our graduates are eligible for state licensure and/or national board certification in nutrition.
